Despite strong evidence of the success of entrepreneurship programs overseas New Zealand still lacks dedicated supports and structures to encourage serious entrepreneurship among 18 to 30 year old adults.

The result is that many young adults continue to be corralled into menial jobs, dead-end training programs and junior roles in traditional employment structures that teach conformity, stifle creativity and choke the entrepreneurial spirit.

Young adult entrepreneurs need to be nurtured and encouraged in order to ensure that there is a robust entrepreneurial groundswell of talent in New Zealand.

We need young New Zealand adults to be entrepreneurially proactive in business, commerce, science, technology, arts and sports sectors.
